Parent Training

Weekly parent training sessions in ABA are designed to empower parents with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to support their child’s progress outside of therapy sessions. These sessions, typically led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), provide guidance, hands-on training, and individualized strategies that allow parents to actively participate in their child’s development. Key components include:

.01

Teaching ABA Strategies

Parents learn specific ABA techniques, such as positive reinforcement, prompting, and behavior management, which they can use in everyday interactions. This training helps parents understand how to respond to their child’s behaviors effectively, encouraging positive behaviors and reducing challenging ones in the home and community.

.02

Goal Review and Progress Updates

Each session includes a review of the child’s goals and progress, allowing parents to see how their involvement directly impacts their child’s success. The BCBA shares insights and data on the child’s progress, providing parents with a clear picture of what’s working and where more support may be needed.

.03

Problem-Solving and Customization

Parents have the opportunity to discuss any challenges they’re facing at home, from managing specific behaviors to supporting skill development. The BCBA helps parents brainstorm strategies tailored to their family’s needs, ensuring that techniques fit naturally into the family’s daily routines.

.04

Parent Empowerment

Through consistent training, parents gain confidence in implementing ABA techniques independently, which helps them feel empowered to support their child’s growth long-term. This empowerment is key to building a strong foundation for their child’s ongoing development, as parents can reinforce learned skills in real-time across various settings.
